Rihanna’s BFF, Melissa Forde, is the newly appointed Creative Director of WRKNG Title, Wale’s hat company. Just in time for the spring season, Forde’s created a capsule collection of bucket hats, all dipped in handpicked signature prints and fabrics, with a little help from her number one fan, RiRi.

The M$$ X WT collection was exclusively launched at Opening Ceremony on Monday (March 30th), with friends and family in attendance.

Melissa was recently interviewed about her new collection, and mentioned Rihanna being her big supporter.

“She (Rihanna) looked at every design with me — even when I did the lookbook shoot — and she recommended the female model that I ended up using. She’s so supportive. Even though it was nervewracking to step out and add something else to my plate, it’s been so much fun too. Everyone [at WRKNG Title] is so great, so when they asked me to stay on and be the creative director, it felt like I was just continuing my job under a different title.”

‘Home’ Heads for $55.5M Debut After $15.6M Friday

Animated offering ‘Home’ is where the hearth is at the North American box office.

In a needed victory for Jeffrey Katzenberg’s DreamWorks Animation, the music-infused family film topped Friday’s chart with $15.6 million from 3,708 theaters for a projected $55.5 million weekend — the best showing for an original DWA title in recent years and vastly exceeding expectations.

Home, opening to an estimated $15.6 million, is nearly twice as much as Mr. Peabody & Sherman’s $8 million debut around this same time last year. It’s also well above the first How to Train Your Dragon ($12.1 million), and last year’s Rio 2 ($12 million).

Home’s voice cast includes Rihanna in her first turn in an animated film, Jim Parsons, Jennifer Lopez and Steve Martin (expect lots of singing from Rihanna and Lopez). Home follows the adventures of a teenage girl on the run and a misfit alien.

The movie, costing $130 million to make, got off to an outstanding start last weekend internationally, grossing $20.1 million from only 10 markets, including a $9.1 million debut in the U.K.
