Jim Parsons sat down with MTV at the Comic-Con 2014 to discuss his latest work, including the upcoming animated film “Home”.

Parsons and director Tim Johnson name-checked Rihanna — who voices the little girl in the film but wasn’t on hand in San Diego — saying she was a big part of the creative process for her character. The film centers on the girl in the middle of an invasion by bumbling aliens, the Boov, who believe they are improving the Earth (while doing the opposite, of course).

When Jim finally met Rihanna after working on the film for some while, he said “it was really nice to hear how she actually sounded if she was just naturally talking to me, and me to her too”.

He says that Rihanna was very comfortable in working with the film because of the studio setting with “the microphones and everything”.

Jim also adds that they laughed a lot during the scenes, and says that they did talk a lot between the takes. Watch the video above to find out what Jim’s favorite Rihanna song is, and more details about the film.
