Rihanna appeared on the Good Morning America television show today, where she talked about her collaboration with MAC on their VIVA Glam Campaign.

She explained how important it is for young people to be responsible and protect themselves against HIV and AIDS.

“You have to be safe and look out for yourself, because nobody else can do it for you.”

Rihanna also said her goal with the Viva Glam campaign is to raise 40 million dollars and donate it to HIV/AIDS affected victims. When asked about the collection itself, the singer explained a little about the lipglass, one of the products.

“The lipglass is really thick, so it sits right on top of the lipstick and doesn’t run.”

The interviewer couldn’t help mentioning Rihanna’s latest Grammy Award, and asked how she felt about it.

“I was at home, and my friend hit me up and said I had won. I was so shocked! A very emotional moment.”

Rihanna also took time to answer a fan question about how she feels about being called an “Icon” at only 25. When receiving AMA’s first ever Icon Award, she revealed it was one of those moments when she thought it was a dream.

“It is a very surreal feeling, it’s almost like I can’t touch it. Icon is such a big title, big thing to say about me. That’s something I need to live up to and the pressure is on now. I have to keep making my fans proud!”

Shakira recently collaborated with Rihanna, and a new video is right around the corner. The “Icon” did not reveal anything about making new music, but did tell how much she loves it.

Music is what I love to do, so you’ll never have to worry about me not doing that”.
