The hotly anticipated summer Rihanna for River Island collection has been released in selected stores and is online from today, 25th May!

The second collection, exclusively designed by Rihanna, features a range of brand new designs plus reinventions of some of the most loved styles from her first collection.

Highlights include billowing dresses, crocheted beachwear and Rihanna’s first swimwear designs, including statement one-pieces and tie-detail bikinis. The overall dress from Rihanna’s spring collection has been reimagined in a monochrome floral print, which features throughout the collection on shorts, shirts and more.

Tie-dye prints, stripes and bold red shades are also prominent in the collection, appearing across jumpsuits, skirts and Rihanna’s signature crop tops.

“I just wanted stuff that I wanted to wear because at the end of the day that’s what got me into designing – seeing things on the rack that were great, but that could have been a little more me,” said Rihanna.

“Maybe they could have been a little longer or shorter, or have a little more sex appeal or a little less. I wanted to make clothes for fat days; stuff that I want to wear. I was being selfish. Hopefully, my friends and people who shop at River Island will have the same taste.”

Watch the star and her co-designer Adam Selman as they peruse the rails, holding up jumpsuits covered in floral and tie-dye prints, simple dresses in black and pink, an oversized military-style khaki jacket, a high-waisted skater skirt and slinky crop top.

“I made a piece for everybody in my crew, we all have different body types and different tastes – some are braver than others,” she said. “I think like that because that’s how women in the world are. We’re all different, we like different things, we have different occasions and different moods.”
