R&B star Rihanna stunned party-goers in New York on Saturday night (25July) with a surprise performance – taking to the stage at a karaoke bar.
The Umbrella hitmaker was enjoying an evening out with friends at Manhattan’s Shanghai Square when they decided to hit the venue’s ‘Karaoke Cave’.
And the crowd was delighted when the star took the mic and spent several hours belting out her favorite tunes.
An onlooker tells RadarOnline.com,
“She came with about six friends and joined about eight more friends who were already there. She didn’t want to be in a private room – she was in the main lounge with everyone else.”
“Rihanna sang along for about 10 songs. She requested Misery Business by Paramore and Bust Your Windows by Jazmine Sullivan. She also sang along with friends to Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood. Anytime anyone wanted to request a Rihanna song she said no!”
“There are three mics in the lounge and Rihanna was holding one of them and singing with everyone during the songs. She was very gracious to everyone.”

I think she’s alot like Marilyn Monroe. She doesn’t want to be looked at as a superbeing, she just wants to be looked at as a normal human being. Like the only thing about Rihanna is that she can sing, that’s why everyone took a liking to her, and the bonus is her apperance, she is very beautiful and has an awesome body.But she is a normal human being, and she would liked to be seen as that. But yea, that’s great how she didn’t want to sing her own songs, looks like people just wanted a free concert out of her lol. And she probably thought to herself, “why would I sing my songs in a karaoke bar when I have so many concerts on the way?”. She had fun, and that’s what counts. People need to stop takin advantage of her. But yea, I wish I was at that karaoke bar, but I’m all the way in Toronto,Canada. Love you Rihanna!! Take care.
I think its funny how shes singing songs about being cheated on and she destroys the guys car. Maybe thats what shes feeling inside. But all that drama is in the past. Sounds like shes having fun and getting back to just being herself. As long as I know she is happy than I am happy. I literally cant wait for the new album. She is such a role model to me. All celebrities are just normal human beings. It’s just that the fans treat them as though they weren’t and their life is on the world stage. Where Rihanna comes from nobody fusses about the whole celebrity stuff. That’s probably why when she wants a little downtime she goes back home. Personally I just watch her to see how its all going to turn out because she seems like a really sweet person. But I find the whole celebrity deal a tad sad.

If Rihanna wanted to be looked at like everyone else she would at least dress like everyone else to blend in.She is the one who seems to want all the attention focused on her.I believe Chris wants to be treated like everyone else because he seems humble and doesn’t want people seeing him out and about to those fancy smancy places everyday.
