In Summer 2018… the tide will turn. Here’s your First Look at #Oceans8!

Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ first look at “Ocean’s 8” from one of New York City’s most iconic locales: the subway. In Summer 2018, the tide will turn as (L-r) Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew: Lou (Cate Blanchett); Nine Ball (Rihanna); Amita (Mindy Kaling); Constance (Awkwafina); Rose (Helena Bonham Carter); Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway); and Tammy (Sarah Paulson). While warring superheroes are the name of the game this year, Luc Besson’s sci-fi adventure Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets has gone lightly unnoticed, despite the director’s fairly open sharing of behind-the-scenes photos and stunt shots. The story is inspired by the Valerian and Laureling sic-fi comic book series created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières, which follows two spacio-temporal (time-travelling) agents across a galaxy’s worth of adventures – and is said to have partially inspired epic film sagas such as Star Wars.

During the MTV Movie Awards pre-show, actress Cara Delevingne introduced an all-new behind-the-scenes segment with MTV host Josh Horowitz, who visited Paris a little while ago to try and scoop new details on the film. Along with insight from the film’s actors and Besson himself, Horowitz is subjected to the unpredictability of Cara Delevingne, and it’s hilarious to watch.

DeHaan and Delevingne were all smiles about the movie itself, but when confronted about Rihanna, their mouths remained completely shut. “Let’s just sat that I had a really cool first couple weeks on set … and Rihanna was involved,” said DeHaan, playing coy on what part the singer was playing in the film. Delevingne was even quieter about it, pretending not to hear a question before saying that the singer is “phenomenal.”

DreamWorks Animation is known for films like How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek, Shark Tale, Flushed Away, and The Croods. And on Nov. 26, the animation studio will release its 30th animated film, Home.

The intergalactic adventure revolves around an overly optimistic (yet inept) alien race called the Boov, who invade Earth in an attempt to escape their mortal enemy, hoping to make this hiding spot their new home. But one resourceful girl named Tip (Rihanna) escapes the Boov’s relocation efforts and teams up with a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons) to save the race after he accidentally clues the bad guys into the Boov’s whereabouts.

To introduce the world to the new alien race, BuzzFeed presents an exclusive short film from DreamWorks Animation called Almost Home, which features the voice of Steve Martin, who also stars in the full-length feature film, along with Rihanna, Parsons, and Jennifer Lopez.

Back in December 2012, RiRi tweeted:

Had a blast today! So weird recording for animation, but I get to keep my accent! AND it’s PG, which mom should be happy about! Brrrap!!

Rihanna will also create a concept album based on the animated film. Jeffrey Katzenberg, DreamWorks Animation chief, announced the news during the company’s earnings conference last month. She will also perform new songs in the movie.

Of the dozens of stars who appear in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s “This Is The End,” Rihanna might be the most unexpected. Unlike Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson, the singer hardly has a comedic pedigree and seems about as far from their brand of puerile humor as a performer could get. But Craig Robinson told MTV News that she made some truly memorable contributions in a brief cameo.

“She just improvised and was fun. It was nice to be playing and singing with Rihanna,” Robinson explained, but Rogen revealed there was a raunchier part of the story.

“You told her to take her panties off,” Rogen said.”Yeah, and she told me f— off,” Robinson countered.

Rogen enlisted a massive group of people to appear in the film, but he insisted that he wanted them to have fun and participate in only the ways they wanted, which is why he was reluctant to insist that the singer perform a tune on camera.

“I didn’t want to ask her to sing,” he admitted. “Me and Evan were like, should we ask her to sing? First, we didn’t even want to put her in the scene with Craig singing, like it’s too much — Rihanna singing — and we didn’t want to ask her to sing. So Craig thankfully sang at her and she sang back.”

Robinson said that she was a game collaborator. “She did a little move like, ‘come on Craig.’ But she couldn’t have been sweeter. I had never met her before but the first thing she did was hug me.” Rogen added that despite her glamorous lifestyle, she gave them no trouble when time came to film her scenes.

“I’d never met her either,” he said. “She was so nice. Very low key, low maintenance.”

Alexander Skarsgard believes ‘Battleship’ will be “quite different” to the board game.

The ‘True Blood’ actor confesses there is little connection between the game and the film – which also stars pop star Rihanna in her debut movie performance – but he admits he is looking forward to shooting it.

He said:

“It’s quite different from the board game. I don’t really think about that very much.

“Pete is a great guy – the director, Peter Berg – and I’m just excited to start it, I really am.”

He also confirmed the film is unlikely to be shot in 3-D.

Asked by MTV News if it would be shot using specialist cameras to create a 3-D film, he said:

“No, I don’t think so.”

It has previously been confirmed ‘Battleship’ will see fighting take place on land, sea and air against alien invaders looking for something under the Earth’s oceans.

Taylor Kitsch is due to play a leading role as a naval officer in the film, while Skarsgard will play his brother.

The movie is due for release May 25 2012.
